Suwanee Sports Academy is pleased to announce a partnership with HOTlanta Lacrosse to bring lacrosse training to our world-class training facility that is already home to some of the nation's premier basketball and volleyball events, camps and tournaments.
“Our programs start with hiring world class coaches to train our players. When we made the decision to add lacrosse we wanted to find an organization that would bring that same level of coaching to the new program. Hotlanta was the natural choice for a partner ,” says Mike Eddy, Suwanee Sports Academy General Manager.
Playing one of the fastest growing sports in the Southeast, Lacrosse players and teams often find practice space hard to find. Starting this August, players and teams can call Suwanee Sports Academy home in the off-season, a place they can train individually or as a team to keep their skills sharp and get ready for next season. The program will start with Stick Skills training taught by the coaches of Hotlanta Lacrosse.
Executive Director of Hotlanta, Pam McNabb, says “It’s exciting to see Suwanee Sports Academy take the initiative to bring lacrosse training to the Suwanee area. As one of the fastest growing sports in the Southeast, parents and players need to know that the training they are receiving is top notch. Our organization is pleased to be working with Suwanee Sports Academy, a facility already well known not only for its commitment to training but shares our philosophy of training not just the athlete but the whole person, on this inaugural lacrosse program.”

How will you STAND OUT on your team?
Defense* Hustle/Effort* Quick Study* Leadership?
The Chalk Talk Series is designed to provide tips and topics to help your player stand out on their next team whether that is a rec team, middle school, high school team or higher.
Those that attended the first in the series on July 21, knows what it takes to make an impression at those fall try-outs. Our new Basketball Director and former NBA Player Emmanuel Blackwell spoke to a full house of parents and players that all had the same goal: How do I stand out at my team try-outs this fall? Coach Blackwell covered topics about Setting and Achieving Goals, Committing to Excellence, Practice vs. Individual Development and How to Standout from other players.
Check back here for more information as we plan the next in the series for later this fall.
Heart Screen for Teens comes to Suwanee Sports Academy
If they collapse, you are too late. It's the truth. In most cases, Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) is asympotomatic and strikes in an instant. In that instant, tragedy is instilled, a family is ruined, and the lives of people around them are changed forever. But it is not all doom and gloom--the good news is that there is a test that can very easily capture the exact size of the heart and blood flow through the heart. By use of an echocardiogram (cardiac ultrasound), a certified pediatric cardiologist can interpret the scan, and you can rest assured your child or athlete will not continue to be at risk for this or any other heart related problem.
Heart Screen for Teens has been at Mill Creek High School, Peachtre Ridge and now Suwanee Sports Academy. For $65 per child-Heart Screen for Teens program will perform the screenings. The fee will include the exam performed by a registered sonographer using a state of the heart ultrasound machine, the reading or interpretation of the exam by a board certified pediatric cardiologist, and an individual report sent directly to the parent.

Price teaches NBA shooters to be on the mark
By Mike Tierney
For the AJC
May 14, 2010
Mark Price, shot doctor, watches Rajon Rando on TV to judge whether his recommended remedies have kicked in. If Price notices some slippage in Rondo's form, he is tempted to forward corrective measures to the Boston Celtics guard.
But he resists. Because Price serves as the Atlanta Hawks shooting coach, contact with his patients from around the NBA is confined to the offseason.
That does not preclude Price from admiring his handiwork from afar. Early Sunday afternoon after a Hawks practice, the part-time assistant expressed delight over the renovated Rondo, a regular last summer at the Mark Price Shooting Lab in Suwanee.
